IT'S MY JOB...

...to keep my team of homeworkers happy and motivated.

On the last day of training I come up to Sunderland and spend the day with my new team members.

As a team leader, I sell holidays but also have additional responsibilities. I'd like to think I know homeworking inside out and am here to encourage, praise, motivate and advise the other sellers around me.

Team leaders in the Hays homeworking division have to be there to support their team at all times – from helping to load a booking and offering advice on who to call with a problem, to acting as personal agony aunt!

I'll report bookings and figures throughout the day so that my team can see how it's going, as well as letting individuals know how they are doing on a personal level. I'll also provide monthly business reviews on the previous months work for each and every member.

Because I'm in a sales position, doing exactly the same as the rest of my team, I feel that I'm in a good situation to support and encourage them – I know what kind of day we're having, because I'm experiencing the same thing myself!
