We do this by advertising deals on websites, Teletext multi-sections and Teletext digital across ITV, Channel 4 and Five.
At any one time we have thousands of offers on the Teletext website alone. Last year we generated half a million calls for our homeworking division through this advertising. It's my job to make sure our homeworkers are never short of good quality sales calls.
When customers ring to enquire about an offer their call hits our telephone switch and delivers to our homeworkers based on their chosen specialist areas. Each homeworker can select a number of groups to specialise in (eg Canaries, Caribbean, long haul, ski, cruise etc).
Our internal database, Homer, is a great time and stress saver for our homeworkers – it allows you to search deals by destination, price and departure airport. So you can always find the holiday advertised.
Several times a day we monitor and compare other websites and teletext deals to safeguard and maintain our competitive edge. My team are experts at hunting out the best deals from operators – it's their hard work which makes our telesales packages so attractive to your customers!
We spend more than £2 million a year on this marketing for our homeworkers – making the phone ring for them to do what they do best – sell holidays!
